Local attractions

The many attractions of Wensleydale are within close proximity including Bolton Castle, Aysgarth Falls, Hardraw Force, Middleham Castle, Jervaulx Abbey, several notable breweries, the Forbidden Corner, and the lovely market town of Hawes with its Wensleydale Creamery (home of the famous cheese), the Dales Countryside Museum, the Ropemakers, and famous monthly Hoppers Auction in the Market Hall.

 

Beyond Wensleydale, the Settle - Carlisle railway (including spectacular Ribblehead Viaduct), Ingleton Caves, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Malham Cove and Goredale Scar, the Tan Hill Inn (highest pub in England) and the towns of Settle, Richmond, Kettlewell, Muker and Reeth and are all within 30-40 minutes drive.

 

Or why not seek out lesser travelled, but no less enchanting, beauty spots such as Warrendale Knots (pictured above), Coverdale, or the Howgill Fells?
