Set in its own grounds and surrounded by beautiful countryside, Green Head Cottage is the perfect holiday destination for families and friends. The cottage offers flexible accommodation including four bedrooms:
- one room with super king size bed and ensuite bathroom, accessed via its own staircase from study
- one super king size bedroom (with additional folding bed)
- one king size bedroom
- one twin bedroom
All bedrooms have wardrobes, drawers, and bedside cabinets with lamps and an alarm clock. In addition to the ensuite bathroom, there is a family bathroom upstairs and a shower room with lavatory off the utility room.
Downstairs, there are three reception rooms:
- Dining room with comfortable seating for 9 plus two additional spaces
- Lounge with gas flame fire and comfortable seating
- Study with woodburner and music system
Internally, the cottage was comprehensively redecorated in 2013. The tasteful furnishings blend traditional features (such as ceiling beams, an iron range, woodburner, some exposed stonework walls and solid oak dining furniture), with modern comforts including large fridge and separate freezer, large capacity washing machine, 42-inch HD TV with Freesat, and Blu-Ray Player with eight pairs of active shutter 3D glasses.
Outside, there are well maintained gardens with dining furniture and barbecue (during summer season). Beyond the dry stone walls which surround the property, there are stunning views to Addlebrough and the limestone crags of Raydale. The driveway can accommodate three cars.
Wildlife abounds at and around the house. Twitchers will be delighted to know that pheasant, partridge, and woodpecker are common as well as garden birds like tits, wrens, robins, and sparrows. With just a short walk up into Bardale, the variety increases further with curlew and lapwing. Rabbits and hares are ubiquitous, owls are not uncommon and lucky visitors may even see red squirrel, badger, or peregrine falcon.
